How The Corgi and I Got Together
I had actually first seen his breed, the Pembroke Welsh corgi, in a Nintendogs game that my friend owned.
Of course, as I learned, they are WAY cuter in real life. Which is why I then spent the next 2 1/2 years trying to get my parents to let me have a real one. Not the animated hundreds I had acquired in the game.
One day in July 2009 we finally got ourselves (That is, my mother and I) to a breeder in the middle of nowhere.
Cricket was the angel in a litter of 4, and it was for the most part, true when we got home as well.
He was a pickle to potty train, but was quick on his stubby little feet in other areas.
He has fallen in the pool, to date, around 10 times and refuses to go in on purpose now. He likes fetch, being in charge, and loves his older brother, a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix named Rosco.
And that is how we met.
Our anniversary is July 23, 2009.
